Want to beta test eBible?

This one’s especially for CrossConnector users. If you haven’t already, check out eBible, which has opened its doors to a select few alpha (soon to be beta) users. More info is below, but if you just can’t wait, log in to your CrossConnector account for instructions on how to become an eBible tester.

eBible is “A new approach to the Bible. Easy to use, understand and share the goodness.”

I got to take a tour of eBible the other day. Aside from the fact that it’s so nice and convenient to have the Bible in a browser, one of the neatest features is the built-in commentaries that run through the scripture passages. Throughout the scriptures are little “c” icons – click one, and a commentary pops up, specifically about that verse.

You can even open two versions of the Bible in parallel. Currently eBible provides New American Standard Bible, New Century Version, King James Version, New King James Version, and The Message.

It’s really nice to have the inline commentary. But in addition, clicking on “More Info” in the left-hand column next to the scripture brings up the commentary as well as tons of useful links to related topics.

Want to try eBible?

Mark from eBible has informed me that he has reserved a limited number of test accounts especially for CrossConnector users. Just log in to your CrossConnector account to find out how to become a beta tester for eBible. (If you don’t have a CrossConnector account, sign up for one! It’s free and takes about 30 seconds.)

Thanks Ryan. I got in. So far it looks cool, though it would be nice to have the New International Version (NIV) as a choice of version. But I guess that will come in due time. Thanks again.

I signed up for alpha testing yesterday after reading about it on your website. Thanks for giving invitations through CrossConnector. I'm quite impressed with eBible. The best online Bible I've seen to date, and its only in alpha. Once again, thanks for the invite and keep up the good work at CrossConnector.
  3. Ryan Says:
Thanks guys - Glad you got a chance to try both eBible and CrossConnector! Seems like there are a lot of cool programs like this coming out lately.
  4. Yannick Says:
Yup, indeed, a lot more are popping up lately.

I also have had the pleasure of being invited for the alpha and eBible is awesome. I really like it and have enjoyed using it. I think it is fantastic that Christian based web applications are growing on the web.

Hey, I know this is a little late, but thanks for the invite. It's quite the snazziness. I'm trying to use it for devotional time in the morning. Blessings, Chris

logged into my crossconnector account and found nothing regarding trying out eBible. Do you happen to know if the offer/option is still available? Would like to try it out. Thanks.
  8. Ryan Says:
Pedro: Thanks for reminding me - I needed to post an update here.... *[update]* eBible was kind enough to open a limited number of testing accounts for CrossConnector users. While the CrossConnector eBible offer is now closed, you can still go to www.ebible.com and sign up to "wait in line". Good luck, and enjoy!

I heard that each ebible beta tester account comes with a single invite to pass on. If anyone has one to share, let me know please. I'm really interested. Blessings.---> ih8s8n at gmail dot com

  11. Ryan Says:
*[UPDATE]* We've given out our last invitation to eBible, so if you haven't been invited, you'll have to get on their waiting list. Go to www.ebible.com to sign up for the invitation waiting list.

eBible is a great tool! And it has a forum that allows users to comment on functions, bugs and what they'd like to see eBible do. With a little imagination eBible can far surpass the other Bible services out there. (It has become my chosen search engine over Biblegateway, which I used to use exclusively). Crossconnector is also a great product, hopefully it continues to grow and become even more functional without getting too complicated. Also, thanks Ryan for your quick response to my email about themes, logos, etc.
  13. Ryan Says:
Hi Pete - Awesome CrossConnector account! I'm so glad that you're finding it useful! And yes, my goal is to keep CrossConnector simple and easy to use, even as we add new functionality and features. For those of you who are wondering what we were talking about - I told Pete that we are currently working on two very fun features. The first is the ability to add your own logo to your account. And the second is custom themes. I'll elaborate on the themes as we make progress on that feature. But suffice it to say that it will be very cool. I'm even thinking of ways that we can make your CrossConnector account look just like your official website (if you have one), so for example, your CrossConnector account could look and act just like an extension of your church website.

I've just signed up for CrossConnector to check it out, and looks like a nice app. Not something I'd use, but something I'd deffinately recommend. It would be cool if you could integrate parts of eBible with CrossConnector, or vice versa. I like both apps, only wish I could get an eBible account... on the waiting list.
